Exciting progress is underway at the Stoneleigh Arms on Clemens Street, as the former pub begins its transformation into a new home for community-led creativity in the heart of South Leamington’s Creative Quarter.
We are working closely with Warwick District Council to shape the site’s future. With lease signing expected mid to late July, we’re now laying the groundwork for a welcoming, inclusive arts hub that reflects the creativity and spirit of the local community.

The building was developed by Complex Development Projects (CDP) in partnership with the Council and designed with accessibility, sustainability and creative opportunity at its core. Proposed plans include affordable artist studios, exhibition and event spaces, ceramic studio facilities, classes and workshops plus a retail space for art materials and locally made work.
“We believe everyone should have access to the joy and power of creativity,” says Cassie Leedham, Co-Director. “That’s why we’re focused on low-barrier, welcoming opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.”
Since 2022, Lighthaus Arts has been engaged with the site and its early-stage development, initially alongside other local creatives and then, in a consultancy role with CDP—contributing placemaking insight and community engagement expertise.
“It’s been an incredible opportunity to help shape the foundations of a space like this,” adds Maddie Webb, Co-Director. “We’re excited to create a hub that’s open, hands-on, and meaningful to those who need it most.”

Fit-out works will begin soon, and we are excited to get input from early collaborators, creatives, residents, and partners as we shape the vision for the space together.
“I’m delighted to see the progress being made at the Stoneleigh Arms development,” said Cllr Ella Billiald, Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Arts, Culture and Economy. “After months of planning and preparation, I look forward to following Lighthaus’ journey and supporting their ambitious plans to collaborate with local artists and organisations to maximise the potential of this venue.”
This announcement forms part of a phased communications strategy. A full public press release and celebration opening event will follow once the lease is signed and we move into the next chapter of the project.
