About Us
Hi, we're Cassie Leedham and Maddie Webb and we created Lighthaus Arts in 2023. We are both practicing fine artists from Leamington & Warwick. After taking on the task of managing the LSA Art Room on behalf of the LSA, we noticed a need to improve accessibility to the arts.
Many people feel intimidated by galleries and by the art world as a whole, or feel it is not for them. We truly believe art is for everyone, whether that's as an art lover or a practicing artist, and we felt a strong desire to bring more people into the arts.
Being a practicing artist should be an option for everyone, but we understand that it can be costly and difficult to get started or to expand your skills. Through the projects and events that we run, we aim to make studio space more readily available, make it easier to exhibit and sell your art, and provide support to artists wherever they are in their journey.
In 2022, we met in an empty retail unit to create an amazing community art gallery on behalf of the LSA. After a few months of painting, finding secondhand furniture, creating branding and grappling with spreadsheets, the LSA Art Room was born. We both volunteered to manage the space and threw ourselves into creating a vibrant and welcoming gallery and working studio space that has been hugely successful.
We set up Lighthaus Arts in response to the need we saw for more accessibility to the arts. We understand the financial and time difficulties of creating art, and we know the limitations many people face when wanting to join the art world in whatever form. Lighthaus was born to help bridge that gap and to connect with the local community around us through art practice and appreciation.
