Our Purpose
At Lighthaus Arts we actively encourage, enable, develop, mentor, facilitate, empower and support local creative arts practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds, with a priority of improving accessibility for those facing socioeconomic or financial hardship, mental heath barriers and/or institutional bias. We also reach out to the general public around us to improve our local community through the arts.
Arts Social and Educational Events
We provide a range of arts events and workshops designed to allow artists and our community to meet, communicate and engage in discussions about their practice and shared experiences within the creative sectors. We use our local and diverse contacts to provide inspirational and relatable speakers.
We also provide arts education workshops aimed at developing awareness in possible pathways and careers within the creative sectors.
Mentoring and Work Experience Placements
We work with the community, local further education providers and schools to provide mentoring and work experience placements. Vocational work experience can be offered, in arts event management and curation of gallery exhibitions. We can help bridge the gap between education and practical application of artistic skills, self promotion and marketing.
Projects
