Available Projects

We have developed a number of workshops that help people to access the arts. We are currently offering a monoprinting workshop that allows people of all abilities to try their hand at image making. See below for details.

Creating Mono Prints in Response to a piece of text

Materials provided:

Paper, Printing inks, Rollers, Printing plates, Various texture materials, Cotton buds, Brushes, Pencils, Tape

Provider requirements:

Sinks, soap, tables suitable to work on

Special notes:

This is a messy class! Participants should be encouraged to wear coverings over their clothes.

Time: 2 hours max

This workshop introduces the techniques and creative opportunities of monoprinting to participants. It’s a quick and very accessible method of creating original artworks, and is suitable for any level of skill and/or ability, making it a great group activity.

Intro (15 mins)

Quick demo of techniques

Step One (15 mins)
Experimenting with drawing, overlaying, reduction and addition techniques

Step Two (15 mins)
Reading text and creating quick thumbnail sketches in reponse to it, focusing on abstract shapes and lines

Step three (30 mins)
Bringing together the ideas and techniques to create two final monoprints

Clean up (15 mins)

Upcoming Projects

Lighthaus Arts are working to develop a scheme to provide digital art workshops for young people in hospitals. We are currently writing proposals for the scheme, which would be aimed at 13-16 year olds and would aid with their overall wellness and mental wellbeing during hospital stays.
